From now on, if you want to see any of my cooking or crafting, you can visit catseatsocks.livejournal.com.
The RSS feed to add it to your blog reader is http://catseatsocks.livejournal.com/data/atom.
For now some of the old entries are still up here, but will eventually disappear. Also, some of the images here and on livejournal might not show up. I will fix that soon.
See you around!

It's a new year
This year I want to spend less time online. That's probably a goal of mine every year, and usually nothing changes. Lately I have been better at this though. I have too many online accounts, and I am trying to downsize. How many blogs does a person need? Plus there's Facebook, Flickr, Ravelry, and other sites. I think I'm just tired of it all.
I do like sharing things I make though, but where does that take me? I'm not sure this site gets enough traffic to keep it going, and I don't really know how to increase traffic.
I'm thinking of moving this blog back to my livejournal account, for simplicity. I'd still keep the blogger account for swaps, such as the International Scarf Exchange, and will probably keep Tasty Fish & Chips here. But for simplicity's sake, maybe it would be better to reduce my number of blogs. RSS feeds are available for livejournal, and people can comment through OpenID if they don't have or wish to get a livejournal account. Currently my livejournal has only 5 friends, and that won't change (or if it does, it will be to add someone I am already friends with). All entries are currently "friends only".
I like Ravelry for being able to look up patterns and yarns, but other than that, I don't really feel like participating in that site much. I can upload stash and FO photos to Flickr, as I do that already (sort of). I'm in the process of cleaning up my Flickr account as it is, and plan on using that to archive old photographs and mementos.
Maybe it's time for some real change.

I bent my wookie
I think my 20 year old TV has finally died. I've only had it for 4 years myself, it resided in a hotel before that. Last night I turned it on to watch Canadian Idol and it was a black fuzz. I checked the cables, everything was good. I tried playing a DVD, black fuzz. I tried playing a VHS tape, black fuzz. I don't think it's worth trying to fix but I don't want to buy a new TV. I can live without it, but it's still sad. Now I'll have to watch everything on my computer. I know that you can watch live TV on your computer but I'm cheap. So I'll probably just cancel my cable and throw the TV out, unless it magically fixes itself. (I can't imagine that this is a problem with the cable, but I guess I should call Eastlink anyway just to check).

Heidi is moving to Edmonton. I will miss her terribly. Why does everyone leave me? Oh, I know why. Because the job market here sucks, that's why.
I totally don't remember posting that meme here. Hopefully no one read it.

COFFEECOFFEECOFFEECOFFEE

I could not sleep last night. I was awake until at least 4, then woke up again at 7, then again at 8 when I had to get up. I forgot to bring change to buy coffee this morning and I didn't make any because my regular travel mug was at work (since I normally drink tea these days) and I didn't really have time anyway (didn't really get out of bed until 8:10). I also don't have any tea. I do however have a bowl of sugar in the lunchroom. Gaaaaaaaaaah.

Oot and Aboot with Dean
I hung out with Dean tonight for gelato at the place on Lower Water Street (near Bishop's Landing). Then we wandered about a bit until Dean's pictures were ready to pick up at the Superstore. Of course, I had to bring my camera. Some of these are altered a bit (as you can obviously see with some) just because I felt like it. You can see the full set here, with a few more.

Any special requests?
I figure I should have a theme every now and then. Any special requests? Perhaps something from the archives? I have a lot of old photos that I can scan as well. In the meantime, here are some pictures I took last year when I was on stress leave from TeleHell.
These were taken in the alley beside the Paperchase.

Revolution Records, which is now The Rock Candy.

A more close-up picture of the above can be seen here.

Magic Yarn Ball

This is my contribution to the Magic Yarn Ball swap. The yarn is Cascade 220 Quatro in colour 9434. Inside are little treasures that my swap partner will find as she knits with it. I'll be sending it off to the US this weekend (if it ever stops raining). I haven't received my yarn ball yet, but I cannot wait!
